An Annual Affair

The Climbo Experience

ORIGIN

On one of our Vantage group climbing trips in 2017, Matt got extremely annoyed watching 5 different groups make 5 different dinners. The time & waste was maddening, so on the next trip he promised to cater all the meals so we could do more climbing & drinking and less chopping and cooking. So… Climbo was born.

THE PARTY

Now it’s a big giant fun event with all of our favorite people, and everyone is encouraged to also bring THEIR favorite people. This year’s event will span Friday May 2nd- Sunday May 4th. Roll in as early as you can Friday, we’ll all set up camp, and hopefully throw up a few climbs before dinner.

We’ll cater the whole event! You can bring snacks and lunch for the crag, but all other meals and beverages are included for $50.

WHAT’S INCLUDED

  • Friday Dinner

  • Saturday Breakfast

  • Saturday Dinner

  • Sunday Breakfast

  • Unlimited Chips & Salsa

  • Unlimited Margaritas & Palomas

  • Beer!

  • La Croix

KIDDOS and PETS

Kids are welcome! Things may get rowdy and there won’t be censorship or a nightly noise curfew~ just some things to consider! There will be an activity station for kiddos with face paint, coloring, and scavenger hunts. Kids eat free, but please include a note in the RSVP page. Dogs are welcome, too! There are usually quite a few pups so just make sure they play nice.

EVENTS & TALENT SHOW

We’ll have a Friday night movie night, a craft table for kiddos, yoga, and a beginner climbers’ class with Matt.

On Saturday night— show us your talents! They can be silly, they can be serious. You can be super talented or barely talented- we want to see it all! If you’re considering presenting something, note it in the RSVP so we can start building a roster.

RSVP

Please RSVP on the next tab over so we can get numbers. If you’re gluten-free, dairy-free, or vegetarian— we’ve got you covered!

MERCH

We’ll be doing T-shirts & Tanks again this year!! $13 per item. Orders must be placed by FRIDAY 4/18!

**Side note: If you didn’t pick up your shirt from last year, we still have it! Include a note in the RSVP page (or text me 206-949-9237) and we’ll get it to you asap.

THE WEATHER VARIABLE

Weather in May in Vantage can be really unpredictable. Some years are hot & sunny, while last year was the worst yet with a rainy Saturday and then a wild windstorm in the afternoon. Thankfully the evening & Sunday were perfect, but it was pretty rough for a while. Due to schedule constraints around other May holidays, we decided to give the first weekend in May one last chance. If the weather sucks, we will be moving the date for future years but will decide by the end of this year’s Climbo weekend so everyone can mark their calendars for 2026. We will also provide refunds if the forecast spooks you if you message to cancel your reservation by Friday April 25th. Many years the weekend has been perfect so cross your fingers for sunshine!!!

FUNDRAISING

The world’s a little freaky right now, which makes us extra excited to be together in community. We’d like to fundraise as a group and make a group donation to the National Parks Conservation Association. You can add to your venmo amount and we’ll donate it all together (and take advantage of some match options!!) or you can donate directly at ncpa.org.

Schedule of Events

Eat, Drink, & Climb

Show up as early as you can Friday. We hope to get the very back corner under the Feathers but will update everyone once we’re settled in. Everyone will trickle in through the afternoon and set up camp. We’ll have a base camp area with firepit, canopy, and the keg & margarita station.

We’ll base meal times around the climbing schedule- but typically dinners end up in the 7-8p range and breakfasts in the 9-10a range.

“BUT I DON’T EVEN CLIMB”

That’s ok :) There are always lots of beginners and a lot of great teachers if you want to do an easy route. Or you can just wander the plateau, that’s always fun too.

Location

Frenchman Coulee

About 10 minutes past Vantage going west on I-90, you’ll take the Silica Road exit. If you put “The Feathers” in maps it’ll take you straight there. Head to the marked Parking Lot, but turn left just before you reach the lot. Take a hard left and head to the far corner. We’ll have some big tents set up so should be easy to spot.
